Experiences at the interface of life, law, and motherhood in Cali

About

I’m an attorney married to an attorney, and we have four children bursting full of life and joy and energy.

I write blawgs for a living, and hubs is a Plaintiff’s consumer attorney.

I drink lots of coffee and listen to indie rock and other loud music my husband thinks is weird.

I am anti-GMO, and have sort of a holy roller food thing, sometimes. I love coffee.

I don’t judge other peoples’ parenting decisions, but I do like to hear about different parenting philosophies.

I’m an aspiring optimist, but sarcasm is my second language.

Just read your bio and your SB277 LawFactCheck summary and thank you thank you thank you! So needed! Still cannot believe this got past the CA Senate judicial committee where it should have clearly been thrown out if Senators care about the Constitution and precident, which clearly most do not. It is just mind blowing to watch them continue to misinform and push this legislation through. I can only assume widespread corruption and/or profound stupidity/ineptitude/lack of due diligence on their part. Sad times. Don’t give up! Thank you so much!

Hello, I loved your article re: sb277, very informative. Thank you for writing it. I wonder if you can tell me if there is a lawyer representing the parents who oppose sb277 and if so, can you tell me how I might get in contact with them. And if there isn’t one, would you be willing to represent us in a class action suit to stop this insane bill?

I know there are many lawyers floating around. I will definitely be involved should this bill pass, but hopefully it won’t!!

    Hello Caitlyn
I heard your speech at a rally during SB277 travels through the ca legislature. You were wonderful and all
Of us moms are grateful that you spoke up and continue to do so.
I am very curious if there is any current legislation to repeal this unconstitutional law. I’m hoping it will get killed once and for all in the courts. Please make my holiday and say it’s so.
    Thanks for all you do
    Lori
